ABOUT ME

I grew up on a sleepy cattle ranch.  For nearly 35 years nothing out of the ordinary ever happend to me.  Sure, there were some wonderful highlights, like having my two daughters, but my life was always predictable and comfortable.  Then one summer everything changed very, very quickly.  One extraordinary thing happened right after another.  When the dust settled, I knew that I had to write it all down.  "Dirt" is the memoir of that summer. It's the story of my journey through an epic divorce, falling for someone new, geology, sex, fear, forgiveness, love, and mountain biking.   If you read the entire story, you'll know more about me than my friends do.

The dust has settled and J.B. killed his dragon five years ago. We said our vows at the top of the Colorado National Monument surrounded by friends and family.  He rode his bike up and I hiked up with a friend.  I told him that my love for him could light up 10,000 cities for 10,000 years and I meant it.

I live happily with my J.B. and two daughters in the city two hours from Dove Valley.
